RSA Helps Rochester City Schools Improve Their Workflow
Rochester takes care of its own, as two local enterprises, Xerox and Rochester Software Associates, Inc., recently installed an integrated Web-to-Print and Scan-to-Print solution for the Rochester City School District!
Rochester City Schools needed a complete, modern solution to drive print volume to their centralized print center. Xerox saw the need and recommended RSA, a ten-time Xerox Software Partner of the Year, be brought in.
RSA delivered not just Web-to-Print in the form of WebCRD, but also Scan to Print Center functionality, via QDirect.SCAN. With QDirect.SCAN, teachers can scan jobs from Xerox Multi-function Printers and select ticketing options directly from a user-friendly touchscreen. The job is transmitted electronically to the Print Center, where it can be produced without any human intervention. No reticketing is required and mistakes are a thing of the past.
To celebrate, Rochester City Schools conducted a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house on Tuesday, October 6th, and executives from RSA and Xerox were on hand.
"When enterprises implement Web-to-Print, they often don't realize that jobs are still going to come in via hardcopy, for a number of reasons", noted Bob Baden, President of RSA. "Teachers may not have electronic originals or they just might be more comfortable with a copier than a computer. Smart enterprises look for a Scan to Print Center workflow in addition to Web-to-Print."
Indeed, that's what Xerox sold to Rochester City Schools, along with an iGen production color printer! RSA and Xerox have teamed up time and again to deliver such a solution, to customers in the public sector, higher education, financial and many more industries.
