Mobile print applications and mobile print workflows are generating a high
level of market interest. In a recent survey of Rochester Software Associates'
WebCRD web-to-print customers, half were interested in
mobile web-to-print ordering and web-to-print order tracking, and two thirds
were interested in the ability to upload orders with automatic PDF conversion
and email web-to-print workflows.
At Graph Expo 2011, Rochester Software Associates (RSA) revealed a technology
preview of mobile-to-print workflows and mobile production management for mobile
devices, including iPhones, BlackBerrys, iPads and other tablets and smart phones.
InfoTrends and others see a strong trend toward mobile device use for print
workflows, and believe that mobile-to-print is at a stage similar to where
web-to-print was about a decade ago.
